Decide to Be Unstoppable This Summer!

When I think of one of the ‘things’ that a lot of top performers in this
industry have working for them…I think of momentum.

One of the biggest obstacles in my own consistent success has been
putting my business in ’start - stop’ cycles.

That totally kills momentum!

I mean why would someone KNOWINGLY and willingly do
‘things’ to kill their own momentum?

Here’s a quick look at how my business has gone for the past
two years…
I totally explode in August - December…sometimes it even lasts until January…I mean EXPLOSIVE success!

And then I do crazy things to totally kill my momentum and send my
business in a downward spiral.

Crazy things, like trying to fix things that aren’t broken.  Or trying
to add too many components to my biz model.  Or taking breaks
when I should be pushing harder…totally stupid things.

It wasn’t until I recognized this pattern in my behavior that I could begin
to fix it.  And that leads me to where I am right now - building an unstoppable
force of momentum for myself and helping those around me do the same
thing.

I’ve made my mind up that there will be no more stop and go.

I’ve made my mind up that there will be no more deliberate self
sabotage.

I’ve made my mind up to be 100% responsible for what transpires in
my business.

I’ve made my mind up that I already have a  $10k monthly business!

There are certain principles that we cannot ignore in terms of building a successful business on the internet. I mean really think about it…with practically everything in life, their are certain principles or rules that must be followed in order to ensure success or a particular outcome.

But I have come to realize that with all the greatest principles, rules, checklists, plans, blueprints and mentors, the single biggest, most contributing factor to your success is YOU!

I am writing this article because I recently did a video and in that video I spoke about focus. Well someone left a comment on that video saying, “Steph. Do yourself a favor, Watch this video every Monday morning . Don’t loose your focus. Get back on your game. WE WILL FOLLOW !!!”

Okay, now, the problem I have with that comment is, why do you need to follow anyone? Why does someone else’s lack of focus or misguided focus have anything to do with whether or not you make things happen in your own business or not?

That comment does not sound like a comment coming from someone who has taken responsibility for their own success, does it?
Why does “being off my game” determine the success others create for themselves?

This is where so many people are going wrong in terms of building their business in this attraction marketing age! They think because they were attracted to someone through a video or web 2.0 platform, that now that person has all the answers for them. I’ve seen more people fail because they put all their faith in the person they were following, and had very little belief in themselves going into their new business venture.

I think having blueprints and coaches and mentors is definitely a key, but in no way does it replace YOU first having undying belief in yourself and what it is you are out to accomplish.

I had a mentor when I first got started and even though our paths did not continue in the same direction, my belief that I would make something of myself caused me to seek out information, seek out opportunity and to fight every single day to build my business. I didn’t quit because my mentor decided to run in a different direction. I didn’t blame him for any mistakes I made or failures I ran into along the way. I decided well before I met him that I was going to do ‘this thing’ regardless!

At the end of the day, I was the biggest contributing factor to my own success! I was also the biggest contributing factor to any failures or mistakes made along the way as well.

When I become a millionaire, I will have myself to blame. If I decide to call it quits and give in to a job, I have myself to blame as well.

It’s called taking 100% responsibility!

Are you taking 100% responsibility or are you waiting to see what that “guru’s” next move is to determine what your next move will be?

Have you blamed others for the action(s) you refuse to take or the opportunities you choose to let pass you by?

Employees blame others. Entrepreneurs find solutions!  An employee will usually look to blame someone for the reason they missed a promotion.  An entrepreneur decides how to create increase in their businesses.

Are you waiting for others to give you all the information and training, or are you empowered enough to seek out the information for yourself?

This is your business! You are 100% in control! There are no absolute right or wrong ways!

The mindset it takes to be successful as an entrepreneur is not the same mindset it takes to show up at a job.

Entrepreneurs are entrepreneurs because they want to do things themselves and they want to be in control! How in control are you if you are waiting for those ahead of you to make every move before you make a move? This whole idea of leaving your success to the person you are “following” is a bunch of bull and it’s been given too much credit in this ‘attraction marketing’ age!

I do what I do online and I distribute my videos & content to inspire people - not to build a list of employee minded followers. I want to attract entrepreneurs who might just need that push or inspiring message to get them taking action!

I realized that the weight of “having followers” created added pressure within my own business and I was trying to base all my decisions on the needs of others. A good friend of mine told me that the best example you can be for others is by becoming successful yourself.

Remember, you can follow all the gurus you want. You can have the biggest money maker as your mentor. You can have the best, elite, secret blueprints downloaded onto your computer. But until you decide that you are the biggest contributing factor and that no one’s actions dictate your own success none of those ‘external’ variables matter.

Will you make up your mind TODAY that YOU are the biggest contributing factor in your own success?

You think he might be on to something? Do you think it has been working for him? And the crazy thing is, he hasn’t been at this thing forever! When you look back at when a lot of these successful internet marketers got started, it makes you really evaluate your own business and how you conduct business.

If you can make your mind up to really learn “principle based marketing” and then go to work with what you learn, you can make big things happen in a very short period of time.

Whenever I read someone’s story, I always think about exactly what I was doing during that time and it awes me to think how fast some people, out of sheer determination change the course of their lifes and destiny.

Okay, now onto niche marketing…

Who are you sending your marketing message out to? Are you talking LOUD but talking to no one all at the same time?

Do you believe too much in attraction marketing and not enough in NICHE MARKETING?

Are you speaking to a hungry crowd that is already seeking out your information and looking for solutions? Or are you trying to lure people and convince people you have the next best thing for them?

Do you have ONE message for everyone and their mother? Or do you have a variety of marketing messages specifically targeting small niche groups, each yielding unique results?

Most marketers are talking extremely loud but the sad reality is, most are not getting the kind of results they desire. Why not learn how to become one of the elite marketers who have learned how to prepare information and messages for those already searching for it so there is no need to speak loud, only to end up tired and frustrated.

Niche marketing is key! And content is king!

Yes…content, content, content! You will find me talking a lot about this and really harping on it because it’s something I didn’t do a lot of when I first began my internet marketing journey. I did video marketing and that was pretty much it, in terms of content! But I am learning there is so much more and how important it is to put as much value driven content out there.

Content is anything that you contribute to the web that gives someone valuable information, and then leads them back to your website, blog, business or affiliate offer.

It’s all content!  And with each content strategy, you have multiple vehicles by which to distribute that content all around the web…driving even MORE traffic to your sites.

Many people wonder why they struggle with “signing” people up in their programs or why they can’t seem to “rake in” any affiliate sales, and the answer is simple…

YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH CONTENT OUT THERE!

Looking at the list above, how many of those content platforms do you actively have working for you?

How often are you contributing content to the web that leads back to your “money pages?”

How many vehicles are you using to distribute that content all over the web?

Content is King!  He or she who has the most value driven content out there…WINS!

This is how I look at content.

Content is nothing more than INFORMATION.

People every single day come to the web looking, searching and seeking out information.   Believe it or not, people don’t come to the web seeking to spend money.  They might be prepared to spend, but they are not searching for ways to spend their hard earned money.

What happens during their search process is, they begin by typing in their challenge, or question.  After they type in their question, the search engine or platform returns information to them, providing results, or answers that match what they were searching for.

Guess what the results usually are?  You guessed it…CONTENT!  And most of that content is created and distributed by every day people just like you and I.

So now when the person clicks on a website that provides them with information or content they begin reading it.  The content might lead them to an affiliate program, a website or perhaps an informational blog.

Here is the kicker!  Should that piece of content or information influence, inspire or excite that person to make a buying decision, then that content has done it’s job…and the content creator earns a profit!

What I find is that more people are turning to tactics and businesses that do nothing more than lure people into “joining” something without ever giving value first…through informational content!

What I love about leading with value driven content is, it allows the person to take in the content, and sell themselves on the need to make a purchase or take the next step.  Believe it or not, but that puts you more in the drivers seat than trying to lure someone into a program based merely on the need to create cash!

Think about that for a moment.

When you make a purchase, don’t you feel better about it when the buying decision was 100% on your own terms, in your own timing and your idea?

Just last night I was skyping with a friend in the industry,  and we were talking about a certain course we were interested in purchasing.  We both read really bad reviews and decided that was  not the course for us.  We ended the conversation with me asking, “what do we do?”

I basically asked that question out of frustration because I really wanted the information and had thought we had finally found it only to be drawn from it.  So later that night I began searching more and landed on a website whose content and information appeared to be exactly what I was looking for.

Based upon the information that was provided to me, I made a decision to make a purchase!  That purchase was 100% on my own terms, in my own timing and I felt great about the decision.

That content did it’s job and the creator of that content earned a commission from me last night!

Do you see how content works and why it really IS king?

Content is nothing more than introducing people to a likely solution for what they are searching for.

The question you have to ask yourself is how much value driven content can you begin creating and how effectively can you get it distributed around the web so it falls into the hands of  a hungry market of people who are seeking what you have to offer?

Remember, no matter how great your product, service or cash pulling business is, content is STILL King!

This post was inspired by Darren Gaudry. I am on his list and he doesn’t send out a ton of annoying, soliciting emails, but when he does send out an email I tend to read them because they are thought provoking and inspiring!

This post was inspired by his email, changed just a little, but not too much, as I want the message to hit you, the same way it hit me this morning.

Did you wake up this morning in eager anticipation of what is possible for this new day, or did you wake up
dreading the day to day grind that is slowly wearing you down?

If you are like most, you wake up every morning to the sound of an annoying alarm clock, only to get dressed in the clothes that you had to buy for work…

You quickly gobble down a bowl of breakfast cereal, then you spend the next 20 minutes driving through morning traffic in a car you’re still paying for, in order to get to the dead-end job you NEED…

So you can pay for the clothes, pay for the car, and pay for the home you have to leave empty all day in
order to afford to live in it…

In my opinion, that is no way to live!

IF YOU WANT SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH, YOU’LL GET IT!

I believe you only have one chance at this life and it should be lived the way YOU decide. Not the way society, big companies or the government says you should live.

What law of nature requires that you go to school, work hard, work your way up and waste two thirds of your time at some stinking office or company? (WOW!)

Two thirds of your time wasted doing something you really aren’t inspired or excited about doing, but rather HAVING to do!

Why do you have to make money in the way THEY say you have to make money?

Why should you forfeit the only asset you have that’s worth anything…YOUR TIME?

Why are you paid by the hour, week or month?

Why can you determine exactly how much & HOW OFTEN you get paid?

Why not exchange your BRAINS for money?

Why not legally make OBSCENE amounts of money whenever and however you want to?

Why not start a business that is as close to perfect as possible?

And the BEST part is that anyone who learns to adapt a simple system can
do this!

Now obviously in his email he led us to a program, a system that he recommends. He was not trying to get anyone to join him in a business, but rather inviting people to take a look at a system that would TEACH them a system by which if adapted, they could begin to learn how to make money on their own terms, enabling them to live life on their own terms and finally calling the shots!

I personally love to make money online and I earn my income several different ways. But what I can tell you is, it’s so rewarding when you actually LEARN A SYSTEMATIC way of earning your income versus simply joining a business that may not teach you anything!

Joining a business does not change your worth! You’ve simply spent or invested your money on yet another business.

But learning a system of generating an income, wealth and continuous abundance, so that you can create income at will is something totally different!

What is your worth and according to who?

Are you happy or “ok” with your current worth, or are you actively seeking a better way?

Are you waiting or depending on others, or are you self empowered?

Are you allowing analysis paralysis to stop you, or would you dare allow inspiration to take over and guide you?

There are so many things you can do with your life. What will YOU choose to do?

take you on a journey.

This all started with me ‘getting back to Steph Perez’

Let me take you back to August 2007.

I was just beginning my internet marketing ‘career’ and
was incredibly determined!

I was using videos as my marketing arm and was promoting
a $5 little feeder program.

My message was incredibly focused and pointed & I knew exactly
who my target audience was and I delivered my messages
directly to them and no one else!

I wasn’t consumed with what others were doing…simply
focused directly on my task at hand and my goals.

And…I was promoting ONE business!

My first month I sponsored 35 people & went on to build a
team of over 500 in less than 5 months.

When I think back to our desire just to want to help people
it’s crazy!

I then decided to introduce a higher paying biz into my
portfolio because I felt ready! And just like before, I was
incredibly focused, put my game plan in order and was off
running with focus!

I sponsored people my very first week! My combined income
for Jan. 2008 (which was my first month with that new biz)
was over $2400. And I was still working full time at my
job!

The months to follow I averaged 20 people monthly into a biz
that paid me $150 a pop. I wasn’t getting rich, but I was
putting a dent in my debt and finally had breathing room!

Incredible, unwavering, concentrated FOCUS caused that!

I woke up each morning knowing exactly what I had to do
and where I was sending my traffic.

My process was uncomplicated. I woke up to success and
made money while on vacations!

I got to a point where I was earning more than $6k a month
without much effort. I was on cruise control and what I
was doing just felt awesome!

Somewhere after that, I got lost! I felt like I allowed
myself to get hustled, and thrown every which way! My focus
was gone.

So how does one go from explosive and consistent success to
being totally scattered?

Simple.

YOU allow yourself to get that way!

No one confused me or diverted my attention. I simply
allowed it to happen!

Many people disappear & quit during temporary moments of
failure or defeat. I have witnessed this time and time
again.

The difference for me is, I’ve allowed my journey to be an open
journey which means I’ve allowed people to witness my
successes as well as my mistakes!

Did you know that one does not fail until they concede to
failure?

As long as you keep picking yourself up and learning from
each set back and making your mind up to continue on…
you’re not a failure and you haven’t failed!

For the sake of my goals and my future, I HAD to get back on
track and while preparing myself for this new phase, it
dawned on me…

KEEP IT SIMPLE, STEPH!

Sure, I’ve learned a ton being online and I know a bunch
of tricks and tips and helpful strategies…but sometimes
too much info is exactly that…TOO MUCH INFO!

For me…I had the most fun and attracted the most success
when I kept things incredibly simple!

Sharing my message, building links, leading people to
opportunity and helping those that reached out for help…

THAT’S HOW STEPH PEREZ ROLLED!

But somewhere I complicated things and maybe at some
point I thought I got just too big for the simple stuff.

(what a crock!)

Here’s my call to action for YOU…because I sincerely care
about your success..only because I have been that frustrated
entrepreneur before and it’s no fun!

You can only go in circles for so long!

The best advice I can give you (right now) - thinking back
to my beginnings in 2007 is…

1) Find someone who will help you
